Reduce Stretch Marks The Easy Way

from:

The occurrence of stretch marks is not totally avoidable. Whether you are in puberty and undergoing sudden growth spurts, into sports, or expecting a baby, you are likely going to notice the appearance of several stretch marks on your body.

Moreover, if you are on see-saw diets or are inconsistent with exercise, your body would undergo dramatic weight losses or gains, and you might be more prone to getting stretch marks. Stretch marks normally show on the abdomen or stomach area, waist, upper legs, the chest, and the arms. The marks may either be very faint or very pronounced. Regardless of their severity, however, there are still several means to reduce stretch marks.

Let's begin with some inexpensive and simple ways to reduce stretch marks. You could start by trying a body brush in the shower. This will help improve your blood circulation and will in turn assist in the skin's natural ability to repair itself. This would definitely aid to reduce stretch marks.

There are also several cream products available at the local drugstore or supermarket that can help hydrate your stretch marks, making the affected skin more elastic. For instance, there's cocoa butter and oils or creams enriched with vitamin E. If these oils or creams do not work for you, you can also ask your physician for a treatment by prescription to reduce stretch marks.

Diet is also an important factor to consider in helping you reduce stretch marks. Including foods rich in silica and zinc would aid in your body's ability to produce collagen. In addition, foods containing essential fatty acids, like fish oils and certain vegetables, facilitate the formation of cell membranes. Including foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E in your diet is also essential to reduce stretch marks.

Another way to reduce stretch marks is through surgical laser treatment. Laser surgery can prove to be a very costly procedure, although its advantages in reducing stretch marks cannot be denied. The laser acts to remove the damaged skin layers while stimulating collagen formation.

However, the laser may only pick up stretch marks that are still relatively new and brownish-red in color. The laser may not pick up stretch marks that are lighter in color.

As presented here, several methods are available in order to reduce stretch marks. Based on different ethnic backgrounds and genetic makeups, some solutions or products may work better for some individuals. Bear in mind that for maximum efficiency, it is always a good idea not to procrastinate - start doing something about treating your stretch marks now, before they age and become more difficult to treat.
